I realized that it was my fault. How could I have been so insensitive? My brother had lost his beloved wife just a few months ago, and that dog was his only source of comfort and companionship. I felt a deep sense of guilt wash over me. I decided right then and there that I needed to make things right. I spent the rest of the day reflecting on my actions and thinking about how I could apologize sincerely.

With the biscuit my wife made, I came to my brother’s home’s door. I took a deep breath and knocked. When he opened the door, I saw the hurt in his eyes. “I’m so sorry,” I blurted out before he could say anything. “I was completely wrong. I didn’t think about how important your dog is to you. Losing my temper was unforgivable.” He looked at me in surprise, and I could see his expression soften a little. I handed him the biscuits and continued, “These are from my wife. She feels bad too. Please, let’s not let this silly argument ruin our relationship. You’re my brother, and I love you.” After a long moment of silence, he pulled me into a hug, and I knew that we were finally on the way to mending our relationship.
