读后续写微技能——“看”有不同

要增添"读后续写"的表达效果,让学生写出内容具体的续写,须有一定词汇量的积累,特别要注意避免使用泛泛而谈的上义词,应该多使用具体的下义词使表达更加准确到位。

今天推送的是look的各种具体表达,经过精心选择,共有20个。为方便学习,每个单词都附上音标,希望同学们马上学习起来,一定记得在高考中使用起来。其实,表达不同的"看"还有很多,不过,作为高中生,如果你能使用以下词汇,你已经远远超越95%以上的同学了。

1.blink [blink] 

眨眼睛=wink 眨眼  n.一瞬间

--When you blink or blink your eyes or your eyes blink, you shut and open your eyes quickly.

--If you say that something happens in the blink of an eye, you mean that it happens very quickly.

She blinked and forced a smile.

她眨了眨眼睛,挤出一丝微笑。

When I told him the news he didn't even blink his eyes.

我把那个消息告诉他时,他眼都没眨一下。

It was all over in the blink of an eye.

转眼之间,一切都结束了。

I did not wink at you. 

我没有对你眨眼。

Nancy gave me a big wink as I came in. 

我进来时,南希使劲向我使了个眼色。

We could see the lights of the ship winking in the distance.

我们看见船在远方忽明忽暗地闪着灯光。

2. glare [gleə(r)] 怒目而视

--If you glare at someone, you look at them with an angry expression on your face.

He didn't shout, he just glared at me silently.

他没有喊叫,只是默默地怒视着我。

They are glaring at each other, ready to fight.

他们怒目而视,准备打斗。

The old woman gave me a hostile glare.

这个老太太敌意地瞪着我。

The kid glared at his mom when she said that he had to go to his room.

当妈妈说他必须回房间时,这个小孩瞪着她。

3. peek [pi:k]

偷看,窥视=peep

--to look at sth. quickly and secretly because you should not be looking at it

I couldn't resist peeking in the drawer.

我不由得偷看了一下抽屉里面。

She peeked at the audience from behind the curtain.

她从帷幕后面窥视了一下观众。

He had a quick peek at the answers. 

他很快地对答案来偷看一下。

We caught her peeping through the keyhole.

她从锁孔偷看时,被我们撞着了。

He was peeping at her through his fingers.

他从指缝偷看她。

Children came to peep at him round the doorway 

孩子们围在门口偷看他。

4. stare [steə(r)]

凝视;盯着看

--to look at sb/sth for a long time

=contemplate [ˈkɒntəmpleɪt] 注视,凝视

I screamed and everyone stared.

我尖叫一声,众人都盯着我看。

I stared blankly at the paper in front of me.

我茫然地看着面前这张纸。

She gave the officer a blank stare and shrugged her shoulders.

她面无表情地盯着那官员,耸了耸肩。

The kids in class stared at the teacher, completely confused.

课堂上的孩子们盯着老师,完成糊涂了。

She contemplated him in silence.

她默默地注视着他。

He contemplated his hands, still frowning.

他盯着自己的双手,眉头紧锁。

5. gaze [geiz]

凝视,注视

--to look steadily at sb/sth for a long time, either because you are very interested or surprised, or because you are thinking of sth else

She gazed at him in amazement.

她惊异地注视着他。

She stood gazing at herself in the mirror.

她站在那儿,凝视着镜中的自己。

She gazed at me in disbelief when I told her the news.

我告诉她这消息时,她以怀疑的目光注视着我。

6. glance[glɑ:ns] 

一瞥;匆匆一看;扫视

--to look quickly at sth/sb

She glanced at her watch.

她匆匆看了看表。

He glanced about the room before she left.

她向房间四周看了一眼才离开。

He glanced at her as she passed by.

她从他身边走过时,他快速地瞟了她一眼。

He glanced around the room.

他环视了一下房间。

I only had time to glance at the newspapers.

我只来得及浏览了一下报纸。

She stole a glance at her watch.

她偷偷看了看表。

7. glimpse [glimps]

瞥见;一瞥(未看清全貌)

He caught a glimpse of her in the crowd.

他一眼瞥见她在人群里。

She glimpsed a group of people standing on the bank of a river.

她瞥见一群人站在河岸边。

8. peer [piə(r)]

仔细看;端详 

--to look closely or carefully at sth, especially when you cannot see it clearly

--If you peer at something, you look at it very hard, usually because it is difficult to see clearly.

He went to the window and peered out.

他走到窗前仔细往外瞧。

She kept peering over her shoulder.

她不停地回头看。

He peered closely at the photograph.

他聚精会神地端详着相片。

9. gape [geip] 

目瞪口呆地凝视;张口结舌地看 

If you gape, you look at someone or something in surprise, usually with an open mouth.

His secretary stopped taking notes to gape at me.

他的秘书停止了记录,目瞪口呆地望着我。

We gaped in amazement at her performance.

她的表演使我们惊讶得瞠目结舌。

People were gaping at the tall basketball player, Yao Ming.

人们呆呆地看着那个叫姚明的高个子篮球队员。

10. sweep [swi:p] 

 扫视;搜索

--to move over an area, especially in order to look for sth

His eyes swept around the room.

他的目光把房间扫视了一遍。

11. sight [sait] 

看见--the act of seeing sb/sth

She caught sight of a car in the distance.

她看见远处有一辆汽车。

On entering the meeting room, I caught sight of him. 

刚一进会议室,我就看见他了。

They finally lost sight of land.

他们终于看不见陆地了。

Her eyes brightened at the sight of him. 

她一看见他,眼睛便亮了起来。

At the sight of her appearance on the stage, the hall rang with thunderous applause. 

一看见她出现在舞台上,大厅里就掌声雷动。

12. spot [spɒt]

注意到;发现 

--to see or notice a person or thing, especially suddenly or when it is not easy to do so

Neighbours spotted smoke coming out of the house.

邻居们发现有烟从这所房子里冒出来。

I finally spotted my friend in the crowd.

我终于在人群中看见了我的朋友。

13. notice [ˈnəʊtɪs]

觉察;注意到

--If you notice something or someone, you become aware of them.

I noticed them come in.

我注意到他们进来了。

I didn't notice him leaving.

我没看到他离开。

Take no notice of what he says.

别理会他说的话。

14. witness [ˈwɪtnəs]

目击;目睹 (尤指罪行或事故)

--If you witness something, you see it happen.

Anyone who witnessed the attack should call the police.

目睹这次袭击的人都应向警方报告。

She was shocked by the violent scenes she had witnessed.

她被亲眼目睹的暴虐场面惊呆了。

15. make sth/sb out 

(勉强地)辨认出,看出

In the darkness, I could hardly make out the number of the house. 

黑暗中我几乎辨认不出房屋的号码。

We could hardly make out anything in the thick fog. 

在浓雾中我们几乎什么也辨认不出。

16. flash sb a smile(a look)

向…微微一笑(或瞥一眼) 

--If you flash a look or a smile at someone, you suddenly look at them or smile at them.

Jack flashed a look at Rose.

Jack向Rose瞥了一眼。

17. fix one's eyes on...

凝视,盯着看

Tom sat there, with his eyes fixed on the flowers outside the window.

汤姆坐在那儿,两眼盯着窗外的花朵。

She stood there, with her eyes fixed on the sky. 

她站在那儿,凝视着天空。

18. feast one's eyes on...

尽情欣赏...

We feasted our eyes on the beautiful scenery.

我们尽情欣赏美景。
